Over 1,000 members of the Iranian diaspora and their supporters held a rally in Berlin on Saturday 24 September over the death of Mahsa Amini.

Mahsa Amini died in hospital on 16 September, several days after she was detained by Iran’s morality police, allegedly for not wearing her hijab correctly and for trousers that were too tight under her outer garments.

Supporters say a police beating caused her death but the police claim it was the result of natural causes.

Her death has sparked protests across Iran and around the world against the strict theocratic government in Tehran.

The protesters in Berlin chanted anti-regime slogans and held up signs opposing the Iranian authorities.

Hair was attached to a number of the signs as a sign of solidarity with Iranian women, who are forced to cover theirs up.

Mahsa Amini died on 22nd September after she was arrested by the morality police for not wearing the hijab and her trousers correctly, in which she later died in police custody . Women and men took to the streets in cities and towns across Iran to protest the killing with a number of protesters being killed by government forces.

Many anti-regime slogans and signs could be seen during the Berlin rally, with hair being attached to a number of signs as a sign of solidarity for Iranian women.
