Smart cyclist fills flat tire with weeds as makeshift puncture repair
A smart cyclist filled his flat tire with weed as a makeshift puncture repair as he was miles away from the nearest garage.
Biker Nathaniel Calzada did a long ride with friends but upon reaching a forest road, he noticed his front wheel had been busted in Cebu province, the Philippines on September 10.
Instead of ending the trail and calling for a lift, the clever lad found a ditch and cut grass to temporary fill in the structure and hold it until he finds a mechanic.
Footage shows the cyclist carefully putting fresh weed as a natural tire interior.
Nathaniel said: ‘It was a memorable experience. I could have been stuck in that area and delayed my friend if it weren't for the weed.'
The grass interior worked and took him to the nearest mechanic shop. It sustained some damage but Nathaniel added it was worth it.
He added: ‘Long rides are exactly for moments like this. It's not just about reaching the end of the trail but the journey in between.'
