This is the shocking moment a pickup truck overturned after one of its wheels blew out on a highway in Thailand.

The accident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows the vehicle driving along the Mittraphap Road in Saraburi province before a loud bang was heard and the pickup skidded out-of-control across the road on September 22.

The truck was reportedly transporting more than three tons of chicken gizzards from Bangkok to Saraburi's Muak Lek district when its right rear tyre exploded.

Saraburi police arrived and rescued the driver, Anan Chitkul, 33, who only suffered scratches on his fingers.

Officers also salvaged what they could of the spilled meat and used another car to send it to customers. The damaged pickup was later towed from the scene.

Anan said: 'I came from Bangna in Bangkok to carry the chicken gizzards to Muak Lek. While I was driving on the curved road, the wheel suddenly exploded and I lost control of the car.'

He added that he wears a lucky amulet that he claims saved him from further harm.
