American artist Tschabalala Self unveils her sculpture ‘Seated’, a new public work, commissioned by Avant Arte, at Coal Drops Yard near King’s Cross. The large-scale bronze stands at nearly 3 metres tall and is the artist’s first public sculpture.
Renowned American artist Tschabalala Self, whose work explores the emotional, physical and psychological impact of the Black female body as icon, has created her first public sculpture, which will be installed on the Kings Cross.
The installation piece will be the first in a series presented by Avant Arte, an organisation which exists to make art more accessible.
