Environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion marched to Parliament Square on their third and final day of actions to highlight the climate emergency and demand the end of new fossil fuel (October 16).

Protesters carried an sapling grown from a Kett's oak acorn - a 500 year old tree in Norfolk.

The sapling was planted in Parliament Square as a symbol of hope and is expected to remain in place until the following morning as protesters take turns to guard the young tree.
