A female Muay Thai boxer has shown off her deadly kicks as she talks about being a woman fighter.

Kullanat Yoohanngoh, 20, fell in love with the martial arts sport while watching her older brothers train when she was only seven years old in Bangkok.

She tried a practice match as a little girl once and felt excited, so she pursued the unusual type of kickboxing with the help of her family.

Years later, the determined athlete has competed in more than 70 fights - winning 30, drawing 20 and losing 20.

Footage shows Kullanat, also known by her boxing name Ida Looksaikongdin, showing off her kicks and punches while training.

Kullanat said: ‘When I was seven years old I had brothers who boxed so I followed them. I thought I liked it because it was challenging, I tried it once, and I thought it was very exciting.

‘I am a woman so it may have been more unusual than a guy doing it. But I thought it could be what stands out in my character, so I continued boxing.

‘I think it's dangerous for women like us. As a woman, I think it is dangerous.'

The beautiful boxer loves to take nice selfies off the ring, but during a fight, she added that she can become ‘crazy'.

She said: ‘ I like being crazy and I like fighting especially when I'm running out of energy I fight even harder because I have nothing to lose.'

In a recent fight, Kullanat suffered a mouth injury but said that she isn't discouraged but takes them as opportunities to learn.

She said: ‘I was elbowed right here [in the mouth], and it broke. It only happened in a recent fight, I was elbowed by my opponent. I remember lying down and swallowing my own blood.

‘Blood was flowing in my mouth and everything went dark for a moment. I tried to gather my thought and balance myself.

‘I think the advantage is that it's a good opportunity to learn the art of Muay Thai and give myself a chance to try things I have never done that people would normally think is hard.'

Even if the sport may be painful and more dangerous for a woman, Kullanat believes that Muay Thai has taught her to become a good sportsman.

She said: ‘As for the disadvantage I think it's physical pain. It's very risky for a woman like me. If you ask me if I'm used to it, I'd say I am almost used to it.

‘Every fight, I get hurt, but I chose to accept it, and since I chose this path, I have to fight. Even with how painful it is, I will fight.

‘Boxing taught me many things. It taught me about kindness and since I'm an athlete, it taught me to have the spirit of a good sportsman and I also learned how to defend myself. I learn many things from boxing.'
