Terrified tourists shriek in fear when fallen tree smashes train in Japan
This is the moment terrified tourists shrieked in fear when fallen tree smashed a train in Japan.
The holidaymakers were onboard a special sightseeing trip when they passed through the large branch blocking the tracks between Takenaka Station and Nakahanda Station on the way to Oita City on April 29.
The locomotive slammed the hardwood which almost pierce through the glass as frightened passengers shouted in the background.
Footage shows the train colliding with the tree as panicked screams are heard.
One of the passengers said: ‘Everyone was afraid something might have been damaged. It sounded like something cracked.'
No one was hurt but scared tourists and asked for the train to stop. Staff went to check on everyone on the next station.
The fallen tree was believed to have been caused by strong winds and heavy downpours earlier that day.
