A rescue team broke an apartment's wall to save a kitten stuck inside for three days.

The volunteers were called to the building after residents heard crying cats behind the electric panels of their house in Samut Prakan province, Thailand on October 18.

After searching for the spot where the creatures were trapped, the team used a drill to make a hole and chiselled away concrete to take the kittens out.

Footage shows the rescuers destroying a portion of the wall to retrieve the cats. One of the cats miraculously survived the suffocating chamber, but its sibling was not as fortunate and died before the rescuers found them.

The resident said: ‘I have been hearing them for two days, but I could not find them. On the third day, I decided to call for help locating them.'

Officers had to shut down the power of the entire building before they could poke a hole in the concrete slab.

A power tool was then used to cut through the wall and the steel control board. They made a small hole but still couldn't take the cats out, so a bigger opening was created.

The two cats were extracted 30 minutes later after piercing through the 10cm thick wall.

The cat that did not survive was given CPR but it had no heartbeat when the rescuers got to it.

On the other hand, its sibling was given water and fed before being rushed to the vet for a health check.

The resident added: ‘I feel bad for the kitten that died but relieved simultaneously that one of them survived. I will take care of her.'

The hole was repaired later that day, and the house owner adopted the cat.
