This is the moment four people onboard two trucks were left injured when a bridge collapsed in the Philippines.

A 12-wheeler and a smaller elf truck were passing through the Wawa steel bridge when its middle portion subsided in Pangasinan province on October 20.

CCTV footage shows the two vehicles nosediving when the weak structure gave way.

Four people from the two trucks suffered head injuries, but all were stable after receiving treatment at the hospital.

Town mayor Nina Quiambao said: ‘We are coordinating with the police and rescuers. Everyone should stay away from the bridge.'

The two drivers and their passengers were rushed to the hospital while officers from the Bayambang Rural Health Unit confirmed they were safe.

Provincial Department of Public Works and Highways officer Simplicio Gonzales said the 12-wheeler carrying sand and an elf truck carrying bags of fertiliser passed through the bridge.

He said the combined weight of 20tonnes may have overloaded the bridge.

However, the cause of the collapse is still unclear as officers are still investigating.
