A jinxed signpost has been repaired more than 10 times as cars keep crashing into it in Thailand.

The unfortunate street sign is located near a convenience store in the Bang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya province, and has repeatedly been struck by various vehicles despite the area being brightly lit.

The repeated accidents are believed to be influenced by the sign's location as it was installed right at the corner of an intersection.

Aoutaen Aoutayanin, the owner of a nearby mobile shop, said: ‘I checked the surveillance footage and was really surprised at how many cars have crashed into the sign, mostly at night.'

Authorities said they will be attaching reflective stickers on the signpost and putting up a warning sign to prevent similar accidents from happening.

Deputy Chief Executive Sumphan Mhungmak of the Phayom Subdistrict Administration Organisation said: ‘I have ordered relevant agencies to install whatever is needed to reduce accidents happening. I strongly urge residents to be more careful while driving through this area.'
