Residents were evacuated from their homes after a burst water main flooded Belsize Road in Camden, London, in the early hours of Saturday 17 December.

Water rescue crews used boats to move more than 20 people to safety.

The London Fire Brigade said, "There were significant road closures in place and we are asking people to avoid the area where possible."

Local reports said that a 42-inch water main and a 15-inch water main burst, affecting around 100 properties.

The flood came as the UK neared the end of a brutal cold snap that saw temperatures well below freezing for much of the week.
