A first-time mum was stunned when she gave birth to a baby boy after multiple scans confirmed she was expecting a girl.
Leanne Grady, 22, got the ''shock of her life'' after finding out the true sex of her baby just weeks before giving birth.
Leanne and family members had already spent £200 in the lead up to Leanne giving birth.
The expectant mum had been so excited to find out the gender that she had paid for a £60 private scan at 17 weeks.

She even popped a pink confetti cannon at her gender reveal party and was over the moon to find out that she was expecting a baby girl.
Her partner, Matt Nethacott, 25, a store assistant in a supermarket, had been hoping for a daughter and the couple immediately started making plans for their new arrival.

Three weeks later, at their routine 20-week scan, it was confirmed again that they were having a little girl.

The couple quickly decided on the name 'Amelia', and kitted out her nursery with personalised clothing, pink baby grows and adorable little dresses.

However, the parents-to-be, got a big surprise when a 34-week growth scan revealed there had been a mistake- and they were actually expecting a boy.

Leanne, who also works in a supermarket, from Worcestershire, said "I spent my whole pregnancy preparing to have a daughter."

"We'd named her and bought loads of pink baby grows and cute personalised things for her nursery."

"Luckily most of the big items like the cot and wardrobes were neutral colours, but it was the emotional side of things that was most difficult to handle."

"But our little boy is perfect and I can't imagine it being any other way now."
Leanne gave birth to her son, Noah William Nethacott, on 17th August 2022 at 1.01pm,
weighing 6lbs 9oz, at Worcester Royal Hospital.
Leanne and her partner, Matt, started trying for a baby shortly after moving into their first home together in December 2021.
"I've always wanted to be a young mum," Leanne explained."

"When Matt and I met, we knew we both wanted the same things in life."

"We were so lucky to fall pregnant really quickly and we were both so excited."
Leanne and Matt were so excited to become parents, that they paid for a private scan at 17 weeks to find out the gender of their baby.

Leanne said: "I'd always dreamed of having a gender reveal party, so we went all out and made a real celebration of it."

"I was just so happy to be pregnant and couldn't wait to find out what I was having."

Leanne and Matt popped a confetti cannon and jumped for joy as they were surrounded by pink confetti - revealing that they were having a daughter.
"Matt had always wanted a little girl," Leanne said."

"My mother-in-law only has grandsons, so we were really excited to be having a girl in the family."
At Leanne's routine 20-week scan, doctors confirmed that she was pregnant with a little girl, and the excited mum-to-be started to make plans for her bundle of joy.

The couple had names picked out for their future child before Leanne fell pregnant, and immediately named their baby, Amelia.

Leanne’s mum had bought a memory book with "Amelia" written on, and they’d also purchased pink bows and girly accessories for their new arrival."

Leanne predicts that she spent roughly £200 on the daughter she thought she was due to have.

However, at Leanne's 34-week scan, everything changed when doctors revealed that there had been a mistake and she was having a boy.
"I was having one of my final scans, and the doctor asked what we were having," Leanne explained."

"I told them that we were having a girl, and they looked confused."

"They scanned the baby's leg, and we realised that it wasn't a girl at all."
"I just looked at Matt, absolutely gobsmacked."

"I couldn't believe it and it was difficult to get my head around at first."

"I was weeks away from giving birth, and suddenly I was hit with this bombshell."
"All we wanted was for the baby to be healthy and happy, but it was difficult to come to terms with a first."

"We'd thought about the woman that she would one day grow up to be, like walking her down the aisle on her wedding day. It was sad."

"But now I can't imagine life without our Noah, he's perfect."

Once Leanne was able to come to terms with the news, she couldn't wait to welcome her son.

She gave birth to her son, Noah, four months ago, and the family are excited to spend their first Christmas together as a family of three.

Leanne said: "Having Noah is the best thing to ever happen to us, and I really can't imagine him being any other way now."

"It definitely was a shock, but it's part of our story and it's worth it to have our beautiful son now."

"Noah is such a good baby, we’ve been so lucky. He’s amazing and so smiley."

"Luckily he hasn’t had to wear any pink clothes, but we’ve kept them in case he has a sister one day."

"We couldn’t return anything because we’d cut out the tags and washed everything, but we’ve kept them to give to friends."

"We were given neutral coloured baby clothes from friends before I gave birth, so we didn’t struggle too much – but it was quite nice to have another excuse to go out shopping."
