A paramedic on strike alongside other ambulance workers outside the London Ambulance Service headquarters on Wednesday (December 21) called on the UK government to "stop lying" and "have some integrity".

Richard Kingham, a London Ambulance Service paramedic, said he was striking for "better pay, better conditions" for he and his colleagues and "to be treated fairly".

His "main message" to the UK government was to "stop lying". He also called on them to "have some integrity". He continued, "they've looked after the banks, they've looked after themselves, and now it's time to give back to the public that they chose to serve".

He added he was still on call during the strike and that "life and limb cover" was still being provided, "If I'm asked to go out on a call, then I'll go".
