This is the shocking moment a pick-up truck wheel flew through the air and landed on a family's roof.

Housewife Thongsri Imsub, 61, noticed the mystery object on her property in Ratchaburi, Thailand, on January 3.

Police questioned driver Samruay Ruayruen, 30, who was waiting at the scene with his pickup truck.

He explained that he was returning home from delivering products when he felt the front left tire suddenly dislodge and saw it fly into the air.

He said he tried to contact the house owner but there was no one inside so he contacted the police instead and found the tire went into the bedroom.

He believes that a repairman had not fastened the wheel onto the axis while the vehicle had been having repairs a couple of days before.

Thongsri said that it was fortunate that there was no one inside and estimated the total damage would be around 15,000 baht.

She added: 'If the wheel had landed on somebody it could have knocked them out. It was very heavy.'

The police from Photharam Police Station said the driver woul pay for the damage and there would be no further action taken against him.
