Miniature artist from eastern India sculpts Hockey World Cup trophy out of pencil lead, makes trophy replica inside glass bottle

L Eswar Rao, a miniature artist from eastern India's Odisha sculpted the Hockey World Cup trophy out of a pencil lead and also made a replica of the silverware inside a glass bottle ahead of the mega tournament.

Rao is a resident of Jatni town in Khorda district and he did this on January 9.

Visuals showed Rao at work as he chiselled the pencil to carve out the lead and work on it. He also was seen working on the trophy replica inside the 750ml glass bottle. The replica of the trophy inside the bottle,‌ made with stones, glittering paper and pen refills was four inches long and the lead was one and a half inches long. In all, he took 10 days to complete his artwork.

With his artwork, he wanted to wish India good luck ahead of the Men's Hockey World Cup, which begins on January 13. Odisha is hosting the tournament.
