A Hainan Airlines flight was cancelled after a crazed passenger onboard began panicking over safety concerns.

The Boeing 737 was ready for takeoff from the Beijing Capital International Airport when the paranoid man named Ha, 25, began yelling and ran to the front cabin door trying to leave on January 3 evening.

Footage from onboard flight HU7603 shows how staff and business class passengers reigned in the distraught traveller, who was allegedly heard screaming: 'The plane is going to crash. Death is coming!'

As security officers arrived to take him away, he continued shouting for the others to leave the plane if they wanted to live, but without specifying why.

Ha's outburst reportedly triggered panic and spread paranoia among the other fliers, who asked to also be let off the jet.

The flight, which was headed to the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, was eventually cancelled after the incident.

In a statement, the Beijing Capital International Airport Public Security Bureau said: 'At 21:13 on January 3rd, 2023, the crew of flight HU7603 reported the incident. When the flight was taxiing for departure from PEK, a male passenger in the cabin disturbed the order, and the flight was sliding back.

'After receiving the report, the police immediately arrived at the scene and summoned the passenger Ha (male, 25 years old) to the police station to investigate the incident.

'During the investigation, the police found that the man's mental state was abnormal, and he was sent to a professional medical institution for further treatment. This incident is still under investigation.'

Hainan Airlines, in a press release, said the cancellation was due to the 'overnight closure of the Hongqiao Airport.'
