What began as an amusing attempt for a boy to remove his own tooth by shooting a nerf gun, quickly turned into his sister yanking the string and the tooth with it.

Father Hayden Black convinced his son, seven-year-old Dawson Black, to use a toy gun to remove the tooth that was barely hanging on, on the evening of January 10 at home in Idaho Falls.

Dawson had the nerf pistol locked and loaded with a string attached to the bullet and tied to the loose tooth, with the idea being that when the shot was taken, the tooth would follow.

But that was not the case, when Dawson pulled the trigger, the nerf bullet was hanging from his mouth and with that came the perfect opportunity for Hazel.

Dawson's little sister was ready to pounce and took her chance as she grabbed the string and yanked down hard, removing the tooth immediately.

Five-year-old Hazel then presented the string with the tooth attached to her brother, who was in tears as everyone was laughing at the whole ordeal.

Hayden said: "We were shocked at the events that took place, when Hazel stepped in to help with the nerf bullet we didn’t have enough time to react to stop her from pulling on it and pulling the tooth out.

"When she did pull the tooth out we were dying of laughter because it was such a surprise.

"This video is really an innocent representation of the joy that kids can bring to our lives, and that we shouldn’t take life too serious.

"Accidents happen, and it’s okay not to freak out and it’s okay to laugh when it hurts sometimes, and when we get scared."
