This is the shocking moment a man made inappropriate gestures towards a woman whilst on the bus in Lewisham, London. 

Esmé Stoppard, 19, was making her way through the city when she noticed a man had followed her onto the bus and sat next to her. 

As the bus drove off, the man then began staring at Esmé and making inappropriate gestures towards her, all whilst she was filming him and not responding. 

Eventually, the man got a bit too close for comfort and reached over to Esmé before she pushed him away and moved further down the bus and next to another woman. 

Esmé said: “A man who had followed me onto the bus and sat next to me, started harassing me by staring at me continuously and then making sexual signals. 

“He then got up and came over to me and got very close but I put my foot on his chest and pushed him away. I went to sit next to a nice woman who she made sure I was ok.

“I was very scared, I thought I was being paranoid by recording him but i’m glad I did.

“I was sitting at the back of the bus and it was mostly empty which is why other people didn’t intervene. 

“After the whole event I proceeded to call him out in front of everyone else on the bus and he shrunk down and went very quiet. I think he knew what he did was wrong.

“The majority of people have been very sympathetic and kind, but some people blamed me and said that I provoked him to act how he did.”
