Jenni Laine was trying to retrieve a button that fell through her work table only to trap her finger within the surface of the table.

The Swedish native was working on a backseat cushion for a car on October 10, when she got her pinky finger stuck in the gap in the table meaning her co-workers had to come together to release her.

With no appropriate finger-removal tool to hand, Jenni's colleague used a drill to gradually drill holes around her hand to essentially cut open the table.

45 minutes later and Jenni was finally free from the table with the use of knives, drill and willpower.

Jenni said: "We tried to loose the finger with machine oil, soap water, and by freezing it in hope that the swelling would go down.

"It didn’t work so my colleagues had to use both knives and a drilling tool to drill into the table. It took about 45 minutes to get the finger loose.

"Most people find it very amusing and funny and others are questioning my intelligence by putting my finger into the hole."
