A content creator wanted to highlight and warn others about a clear cup coin scam she had spotted whilst on her morning walk.

Amanda Rollins, 32, is originally from Boston but has been living in Paris for the last five years.

As she was on her morning walk on September 4, she spotted a person on the floor asking for money with a clear cup full of coins.

However, Amanda goes on to explain about how she hopes the person is okay but she has seen this set up used in scams before.

She goes on to explain that they set the clear cup full of coins a distance away from themselves, waiting for an unaware passerby to accidentally kick it over and demand they repay them for the accident.

The video has since amassed over 1.2 million views online.

Amanda said: “I’m showing a common coin cup scam used in Paris to trick pedestrians into knocking over the coin cup and demanding money.

“I live in the centre of Paris and see things like this all the time so wanted to share the video to alert tourists to the scam so they don’t fall for it.”
