A microbiologist has revealed just how dirty a kitchen sink is even after cleaning. The results are alarming!

Tim Call, 32, has some bad news for germaphobes after testing his kitchen sink for bacteria before and after scrubbing it with hot water and soap.

Before the scrub down, the microbiologist, from Utah, US, discovered an abundance of bacteria in his own kitchen sink.

However, even after a lot of elbow grease with bacteria-killing supplies, the scientist found a shocking 45,000 original bacteria samples lurking behind.

Tim made the grim discovery by swabbing his sink before and after a clean and grew the bacteria in a petri-dish.

He shared his disturbing findings with his 203,000 followers on TikTok in a step-by-step explanation video.

The clip has since gone viral with 33.4 million views and 2.7 million likes with horrified users rushing to the comments to share their thoughts.

One worried person said: “But my dishes touch the sink… how does one avoid sink germs on freshly washed dishes?”

Another user wrote: “Yall realize there’s bacteria in literally everything right?”.

“The bacteria right there builds character,” joked another user.

Tim often posts to TikTok to educate others on just how dirty everyday items can be.

“I make this content because I’ve always been curious about what was growing around me and I wanted to visually see it. It’s starting to visually answer many questions that people have had".
