Activists belonging to the organisation Save The Asian Elephants (STAE), actor Peter Egan, and Stanley Johnson, Former British PM's father, submit a petition to 10 Downing Street in London demanding British travel agents and their members to end profiteering from "elephant attractions and rides".

The organisation is asking companies and tourists not to encourage the attendance of attractions that offer elephant rides or that force these animals to perform tricks.

On January 23, STAE tweeted: "We will present the largest petition in history for any animal species".

The formal written request has been signed by over 1 million people.
