A teacher turned his classroom into a game show to encourage fun learning to students.

Clinton Miguel, 28, said he had the idea after catching some of his students sleeping in class in Pampanga province, the Philippines.

So to hook the youngsters' short attention span, the grade 7 teacher of six years teaching music, arts, physical education, and health introduced a new format that proved effective.

Footage from January 24 shows teacher Clinton acting as the game master as he opened another ‘episode' of their ‘show' where his students are the players.

The creative teacher Clinton said: ‘I noticed the younger generation are different. They really sleep in class. I thought that something must be done so I had to innovate.

‘I find our new format very effective. Their exam scores are higher and the lessons really stick to them.'

In their classroom game show, Clinton set up three LED monitors in front, complete with a sound system.

At the start of each show, he would enter the room energetically as reality game hosts did on television.

He would then lead them in a short icebreaker of dancing, clapping, and cheering to keep their attention.

Teacher Clinton was seen in the video shouting at the start of the game, ‘the Sappharian quiz bee,' which is the name of their class.

A series of questions would be asked for the students to answer based on the teacher's lesson plan.

In the video, two students tried to beat each other in answering the question so their team could win.

The teacher added the students responded positively to his different and fun method.

He said: ‘They love it. Parents were also happy because their kids were excited to come to class and would review to win the show.'

Now, teacher Clinton said he hoped to inspire more.

He said: ‘This is my passion. I have already used up some of my salaries to buy things for the game show. But what's important is that the students know that learning is fun and enjoyable.'
