Footage shows the new train station which opened in Bangkok - making it the largest railway terminal in Southeast Asia.

The Bang Sue Grand Station in the north of the city replaces the early 20th century Hua Lamphong station in the Chinatown area of the Thai capital.

Officials said the building, also known as the Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, cost the equivalent of 457 million U.S. dollars and has 26 platforms and 274,192 square metres of usable floor space.

State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said 52 long-distance routes are now operating from the station.
