A huge blaze broke out in a cardboard factory in Tijuana, Mexico, on January 28.

There were no injuries in the fire but structural damage was reported.

At least 12 workers were evacuated.

TIJUANA.- A cardboard factory has been on fire since early this morning near the border crossing in Otay.

Firefighters have been fighting the conflagration since 05:34 hours (local time), the agency reported.

The Towels and Creped Papers (TPC) factory is located on Fray Mayorga street in the Garita de Otay neighborhood.

It is about 500 meters from Mexican customs and about 800 meters from the Garita de Otay border crossing.

The smoke can be seen from several kilometers.

The fire is being fought by firefighters from three stations, in addition to the fact that the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) cut off electricity in the area.

So far it is unknown if there were personnel working at the time of the incident, the origin of which is unknown.
