This action-packed clip sees an almighty hammerhead shark chase down a smaller bronze shark to the shore, just within feet of a couple of marine biologists.

Jim Bastow was with his buddy off the west coast of Australia on a remote island where they had stopped for lunch on January 20.

All of sudden, the pair noticed a looming shadow in the crystal clear waters edging closer to the shoreline, that being the bronze shark and the huge hammerhead.

The hammerhead was trying to hunt down the smaller species and in the process, swooped next to Jim in the shallows and revealed it's huge dorsal fin and tail with a splash.

The clip was posted to TikTok where over 15 million have viewed the video.

Jim said: "A hammerhead shark chases a smaller bronze whaler shark through the shallows just as we were swimming in the water.

"It was an awesome beautiful scene from nature, definitely not something to be fearful of.

"I was amazed and felt privileged to witness such a raw awesome spectacle of nature."
