Watch the nail-biting scene as a man scaled a 40-storey tower in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, without any safety equipment.

Filmed on February 7, the footage shows the climber slowly edging his way to the top of the building. As he reaches the roof, the filmer lets out a sign of relief.

"It really was insane to watch. Thankfully he made it safely to the top," the filmer commented online.

According to reports, the climber known as 23-year-old Maison Des Champs calls himself the "pro-life Spider-Man".

The daredevil was streaming the event from his phone and claimed he was doing it to raise awareness and money for an anti-abortion charity.

Phoenix Police officers, who were waiting for him at the top of the building, said he'll be booked into jail for trespassing and criminal nuisance charges.
