Keep rolling! Two loose wheels from lorry travel along road before hitting shop and ATM machine
This is the moment two loose wheels flew from a lorry and rolled along a road - damaging a motorcycle, picnic bench and ATM machine.
The pair of rubber tyres came off the vehicle and travelled along the pavement in Chonburi province, Thailand, on February 9.
CCTV footage shows one of the wheels bounding towards the roadside, nearly hitting a pick-up truck before slamming into a parked motorcycle and a picnic bench outside a shop.
The other wheel continued rolling forward and smashed into an ATM booth.
Resident Somsak Kangwanlertpanya, 76, the owner of the damaged motorcycle, said he heard a loud noise and found that his bike had been knocked down by the runaway wheel, which had also destroyed a nearby marble chair in front of his shop.
He said: 'It was lucky that the accident happened in the afternoon since the road becomes quite busy in the morning and evening, with factory workers passing through.'
Truck driver Saksith Meewong, 31, said he was delivering cement to a customer when the accident happened.
He said that while negotiating a curve, the truck tilted to the left, causing the wheels to come loose.
A preliminary police inspection found that the driver did not thoroughly inspect the truck before driving, as one of the wheel nuts was improperly secured.
Saksith said he has called his insurance company to pay for the damages and compensate the affected parties.
