A group of women dressed as the female characters in Margaret Atwood's the Handmaid's Tale, marched in solidarity with those in the struggle for gender equality in Iran and the wider Women, Life, Freedom movement (March 8).

The group dressed in red cloaks and white bonnets walked silently along Whitehall, carying an image of a protester killed or imprisoned in Iran.

Some wore eye-patches, as the Islamic regime of Iran has been accused of deliberately maiming protesters, to instill fear amongst the population.
