A group of young people rehearsed walking on stilts over 3 meters to celebrate Lantern Festival in southwest China.

Video filmed on Feb 12 in Honghe, Yunnan shows performers walking on 3.3-meter-high stilts in formation and some of them wearing lion dancing costumes.

According to Wang Renjie, a performer aged 20, started to practice walking on stilts at the age of 7, and the height of stilts raised from 1 meter to 3.3 meters. He stops practicing for a few years because of Covid-19, and he has practiced for 6 years until now.

The skills of walking on stilts hands down from generation to generation, and there is only one successor in a generation, introduced by Wang.

Walking on stilts is one of the Chinese intangible cultural heritage.

Some clips are licensed to Wang by the filmer Chen Mengxiong, who is one of the performers.
