A toddler was overcome with emotion when he met his newborn little brother for the first time.

Juancho Matteo visited the hospital a day after her mum gave birth to his sibling Lyle Valentin in Quezon City, the Philippines on February 15.

The one-year-old toddler's parents thought that the youngster would be upset with the divided attention but his reaction came out the exact opposite.

Footage shows Juancho Matteo fixing his eyes on the infant crying on the crib. The cute toddler then flashed a wide smile and giggled as he walked closer to the baby and greeted each other.

Mother Aika Devela said: ‘We didn't expect that he would react this way. We initially thought that he would be jealous.

‘Before Lyle Valentin was born, Juancho would cry or show he's upset if we carried another baby.'

The little boy even waved to the baby, who calmed down for a moment, before the infant went back to crying again.

Aika added: ‘It was such a priceless moment for us. He was so happy to become a big brother finally. His reaction was so precious.'
