Nature explores hiked the steamy mouth of an active volcano in the Philippines.

Drone footage shows the mountaineers working their way up the sloped formation to reach Mount Leonard Kniaseff's crater in Davao de Oro province on January 16.

Upon reaching the peak, they were astonished to find the foggy terrain with puddles of boiling water surrounding in it.

Around the crater was a mesmerising light blue lake enclosed by yellowish soil and rocks.

Moises Balaba said: 'Nature is wonderful. I always see new things each time I step out of the house to explore.'

Mount Leonard Kniaseff is one of the active volcanoes in the country and part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
