Commuters in Stockholm County, including the city of Stockholm, are facing severe rail disruptions as train drivers launch a wildcat strike on April 17. The strike, which denounces the removal of train attendants from commuter trains, is expected to continue through April 19, causing significant delays throughout the region. Early on April 17, several rail services were already canceled, and disruptions are expected to persist for the duration of the strike.

With over 80 percent of train drivers participating in the strike, numerous rail services are expected to be canceled between April 17 and 19. To mitigate the impact of the strike, authorities have introduced replacement bus services on several major routes. However, given the scale of the disruption, these services will likely be oversubscribed, causing crowding issues for commuters. Additionally, available rail services will likely experience increased congestion, and alternative means of transport may also see a surge in demand.п
