Chiang Mai Zoo organized a mourning ceremony and invited 20 monks to perform a merit-making ritual in honor of "Lin Hui", a female panda and Thai-Chinese goodwill ambassador. The ceremony was held seven days after her passing on April 19th at the age of 21 years and 7 months while living at the panda exhibition area of Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand.

"Lin Hui" had been sent to Thailand by China 20 years ago alongside the male pandas "Chuang Chuang" as part of research and conservation projects for pandas. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
