Japan: Strong Aftershocks Strike Ishikawa On Sea Of Japan Coast

One dead and more than 20 people were injured after a magnitude 6.5 earthquake, registering an upper 6 on the Japan Meteorological Agency’s 7-point scale, shook the Noto district of Ishikawa Prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast on Friday afternoon, May 5.

Strong aftershocks following the initial quake occurred in the region.

The Meteorological Agency has warned more aftershocks that could be as powerful as the level 6 for about a week.
