A shocked tourist found dead frogs turned into handbags at a market in the Philippines.

Footage shows the glossy bullfrogs tied with a string, seemingly so they could be conveniently hanged on the shoulders like a purse, displayed at a store near the beach in Aklan province on April 25.

The creatures were seemingly dried and treated to become leather while maintaining their original appearance at the shop on the popular holiday island of Boracay.

A little boy said in the background: ‘Is this a frog?'

Tourist Anabelle answered the youngster: ‘Yeah, daddy can you bring it out? The guy said it's a real frog. It's a real dead frog.'

She confirmed with the storekeeper if the bag was indeed made from the amphibian hide, and he answered: ‘Yes, except the eyes. Because you cannot preserve the eyes.'
