The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement announced the killing of another of its senior leaders, Ahmed Abu Daqqa, in an Israeli bombardment of a house in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. For its part, Israeli media reported, quoting medical sources, that one Israeli was killed as a result of a rocket fired directly from Gaza on a house in the city of Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, which is the first Israeli death since the outbreak of the latest wave of escalation last Tuesday.
Israeli media also reported that seven people were injured as a result of the missile's fall in Rehovot, in addition to the injury of another Israeli by shrapnel from a missile in the city of Sderot, adjacent to the Strip.
