Hundreds of people descended on London today (May 13) to protest Israel's bombing of Gaza and the occupation of Palestinian territories. The rally took place ahead of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba which will be commemorated on May 15.

The Nakba or "Catastrophe" refers to the displacement of 750,000 Palestinians and the destruction of their villages and towns that took place in 1948.

Today Palestinians and their supporters observe this day to also highlight the ongoing displacement of Palestinians, home demolitions and arbitrary arrests.

The protest was organised by: Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Friends of Al- Aqsa, Muslim Association of Britain, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

In May of this year Palestinians will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Nakba.
