This feel-good video captures the moment Jade Roovers surprised her daughter with a pet dog, almost a year after having said goodbye to their old dog, who had been a major part of their family.

"My daughter, Rubie has myalgic encephalomyelitis, which is a debilitating condition," Jade shared with WooGlobe. "Her dog, named Tate, got her through her low times. She had been in Rubie's life since she was one year old. Unfortunately, on January 20, 2022, Tate took her last breath.

"We were devastated. Rubie slipped into depression, which made her condition worse. She was missing her dog so much. There was this emptiness that had settled in our house.

"But one day, right around Rubie's 15th birthday, I came across a 'puppies' ad and that led to us meeting Daffodil (the pup in the video). We chose her then and there."

The filmer added that she and her husband brought Daffodil home while Rubie was out with her grandparents. So, they had time to set up the surprise, and judging by the birthday girl's moving reaction, it's fair to say that she loved meeting her new pal.

"Daffodil saved us all and is mending our hearts," Jade added. "We won't ever forget our Tate But Daffy has made life easier for us."
