A funny video has emerged from Toronto, Canada of a cat called Plomps who has a bit of a thing for apples.

According to her owner, the fascination with apples began the very first time he brought home a bag. Since then Plomps always licks them, rubs them and purrs happily - sometimes for up to 40 minutes.

"I have no idea why she has such a love for apples," her owner wrote online.

My rescue cat, Plomps, has quite the thing for apples.

Plomps was found as a young kitten in a dumpster eating the chicken fat from discarded charcoal briquettes in Toronto in the summer of 2009. The first (and every subsequent) time I brought home a bag of apples, she was enamoured with them and would spend up to 30-40 minutes licking them and rubbing up on them, all the while purring happily. I have no idea why she has such a love for apples, so I've decided on the narrative that someone once discarded some old apples in her dumpster one time and they brought her some comfort during those dark days.
