Dramatic moment train collides with truck in Wingate, North Carolina
A train collided with a semi-trailer that got stuck on a railroad track in Wingate, North Carolina, US on June 8. Luckily, no one was injured in the accident.
The truck trailer was sheared in half as a result of the collision. Authorities said that the vehicle was hauling bricks, not hazardous materials. Patrick Rainey, the driver, was arrested after drugs were found in the cab.
Similar accidents earlier this year in January saw two trucks get hit at the same crossing within a week. According to the mayor, Garry Hamill, such accidents occur because the grade on the track is too high for certain vehicles to pass through.
