The Israeli army attacked protesters and activists during a rally in Jerusalem's Old City yesterday (June 8). The demonstration was organised to denounce the eviction order affecting the Sub Laban Palestinian family.

An order issued by the Israeli Enforcement and Collection Authority is forcing Nora Ghaith (68) and her husband Mustafa Sub Laban (72) to vacate their home in the Muslim Quarter by June 11, 2023, to make way for a Jewish settler organisation.

The footage, which was filmed at 3.30 pm GMT, shows people gathering in support of the family, chanting, playing the drums, and waving Palestinian flags during the rally.

At minute 1.05, a member of the army can be seen punching a woman and a man sitting on the ground. The army pushes away the protesters that tried to intervene in defense of the two demonstrators and violently pull the flags from the hands of other participants. Towards the end of the clip, a man is forcefully carried away.

According to local sources, several people were arrested during the rally.
