High winds brought by the incoming Cyclone Biparjoy have caused massive waves on Mangrol Beach in the city of Junagadh, Indian state of Gujarat.

The footage, which was filmed on June 12, shows water hitting moored boats and entering buildings and houses close to the seashore. The video also features images of fishermen transferring their boats to safer places.

According to local sources, 500 residents have been moved to shelter homes.

The Indian state of Gujarat has been put under a high alert due to the cyclone, which is expected to batter the country on June 15.

Indian state of Gujrat is on high alert as cyclone Biporjoy to make it's landfall on Thursday. The cyclone is very likely to cross Saurashtra and kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts by Thursday noon with wine speed of 125-135 kmph gusting to 150kmph.
Prime minister of India, Narendra Modi chaired a review meeting with officials on preparedness. In some parts of Gujrat heavy rains and strong winds were reported as intensity of cyclone which has intensified into extremely severe cyclonic storm.
