Adorable puppies donned flashy rainbow outfits in a 'Pet Pride' parade celebrating the LGBT community in Thailand.

The fabulous pets wore wacky butterfly wings, frilly tutus, and puffy clown afros as they joined the gay-themed festivities at the Wachirabenchathat Park in Bangkok on June 24.

Pet owners competed to dress their fur babies in the most creative costumes, and paraded them on a catwalk, vying for a 5,000 THB (142 USD) prize.

Musical performances and a fun treasure hunt were also held to liven up the celebration, which has been marked by businesses and residents across Thailand.

A number of events are taking place across Bangkok, which has been known for several decades for its thriving transgender community of Thai 'ladyboys', that integrate harmoniously into society.

Similar events celebrating alternative sexual lifestyles happen around the world each year in June on the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969. The unrest was part of a struggle for equal rights for openly-gay people.
