An alien spaceship-themed vehicle amused motorists as it crossed a junction in Thailand.

Footage shows the silver bucket hat-shaped vehicle passing through as curious drivers from opposite lanes waited for the red light in Loei province, Thailand on June 3.

The flying saucer's owner Wichan Sriputta, 55, dressed up in an extraterrestrial character to complete the look.

He customized his electric vehicle to join the Rocket Festival parade being held in their province.

Onlooker Suthirak Chanthakanya said: ‘It was so funny. I had to squint and clear my eyes to ensure I wasn't seeing wrong.'

The Rocket Festival, or Boun Bang Fai, is a Buddhist celebration practised by the ethnic Lao people in northeastern Thailand bordering Laos. It highlights dance, music, parades and a competitive firing of homemade rockets.
