Pest exterminators destroyed a huge beehive nestled under a school building's ceiling in Thailand.

The specialists climbed up a stepladder and doused the large honeycomb - tucked in a cranny just above the school windows - with pesticides at the Nikom Sang Ton-eng Phimai 3 School in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on June 23.

Hundreds of bees dropped dead upon being sprayed with the poison. The team then disposed of the hive by scraping it out from the hidden nook.

Teachers and parents had called the team fearing the horde of bees might divebomb students during classes.

The exterminators warned residents to be vigilant of bees and wasps searching for new homes during the rainy season.

They urged locals to call experts if they encounter bee or wasp hives in their houses.
