This is the dramatic moment a quick-thinking shopkeeper saved two fellow vendors knocked to the ground by a powerful electric shock.

Boonserm Kongpetchsak, 43, and Sangwian Kongpetchsak, 61, were tidying up their restaurant in Chonburi, Thailand at closing time when they were zapped unconscious by the electric current early morning on June 25.

CCTV footage shows Boonserm in a blue apron retrieving a tray from a cart before suddenly keeling over on the wet pavement. Thinking she had simply slipped on the floor, Sangwian, wearing a red dress, walked over to check, but was also electrocuted and knocked out.

Their relative, Mian Kongpetsak, saw the women twitching on the sidewalk and ran inside screaming for a worker to unplug the power. The unconscious vendors were then dragged inside and given first aid.

Boonserm and Sangwian survived the terrifying ordeal and were taken to hospital for checks. The incident had left them with various bruises and persistent head and body pain, they said.

Sangwian said: 'I thought I had died because I saw people in white clothes walking up in the sky. When I woke up, I was given warm water, beer, and rice whiskey. I didn't want to be taken to the hospital. It's a miracle both Boonserm and I survived.'

Hero shopkeeper Mian said: 'I went to withdraw money from the ATM, but had to return early because it was out of order. It turned out to be a good thing, because I managed to save my relatives just in time.'

The family believe the electric shock came from the metal cart they were using to display their food. They said they will visit a Buddhist temple to offer gratitude following the near-fatal experience.
