Devon paddle boarder left delighted after close encounter with pod of 30 DOLPHINS
A paddle boarder has been left delighted after having a close encounter with a pod of 30 dolphins – with incredible footage capturing the special moment.
Isabelle O'Shea was out on her board when she spotted the fish in Devon’s Brixham harbour.
She captured the aquatic mammals enjoying a snack but moments later, they began to swim towards her.
The pod is believed to have been made up of around 30 common dolphins including a baby.
Isabelle, a language teacher, who lives in Devon, couldn’t believe her eyes as the pod breached out of the water to say hello on Friday (16 June).
Some of them even swam under her paddle board.
She had been enjoying a local boat trip in Torbay when she first spotted the creatures.
The dolphin fanatic regularly visits the coast for this exact reason, however she says this was the best encounter she’s had for years.
She said: “I felt total elation as I was surrounded by a maternal pod of about 30 (common dolphins) including a calf.”
Later sharing the footage to Facebook, it has left users amazed.
Tracey Tickner said: “Just beautiful”
”Just wow,” said Ange Walters.
Another person, called Cheryl Adams, added: “Amazing video.”
”Absolutely amazing,” said Angela Crawford.
