Since its inauguration just over a month ago, a remarkable low-carbon ecological park situated within China's Daqing Oilfield has already drawn in an impressive number of nearly 50,000 tourists.

The park's establishment began on November 11, 2020, when PetroChina Daqing Oilfield took the initiative to construct the first-ever carbon-neutral forest, occupying a vast area of 340,000 square metres. With ambitions to expand its environmentally-friendly footprint, the oilfield is currently developing a sprawling carbon-neutral ecological park projected to cover approximately 1,400,000 square metres.

Spearheading the effort, She Hongjun, the representative from Daqing Oilfield Ecological Environment Management and Protection Company, highlighted the park's multifaceted nature. Beyond its essential role in forest carbon sequestration, energy conservation, and emission reduction, the park is also designed to cater to leisure and recreational activities.
