Trade union leader Simion Hancescu, just back from talks with the President of Romania, go to talks with teachers during a protest held in front of the Presidential Palace in Bucharest, Romania.
Up to 20,000 employees from the education system, mostly teachers, marched on route between the headquarters of the Romanian Government and the Presidential Palace in Bucharest, in the second week of the national strike. Several education union federations began a national strike on May 22, demanding higher wages and better working conditions.
